In the Murray Region we have a population of over 115,000 people with a predicted growth to over 143,000 people by 2036. Our most populated area being the Albury City Council area with over 51,000 people. This is because Albury have a large construction and manufacturing base with significant levels of employment in health, education and public service. This Council area is over 44% of our regions population. Which has increased from 2011 to 2016 at 6.8%.

Our smallest population Shire or Council is in Balranald which has a population of just over 2,000 people (only 1.9% of the regions population). It also has one of the smallest growth from 2011 to 2016 with only 0.22%. Below you can see how our Local Government Areas make up the Murray Region population.
